about

This album was a long time in the making. It represents much of what initially drew me to acoustic music, particularly the folk and bluegrass traditions. But it also represents a departure in some ways toward an instrumental aesthetic resulting from new methods of composing (new to me, at least). The concept of "regarding incarnations" came late during the process, and ultimately it describes quite well the variations embodied in the ideas and sounds of the album. At its core, it is an expression of reconciliation between frustration and joy; doubt and belief; bitter and sweet.
